Notes from the Life and Practice
of a Pediatrician and his Wife

John Gall, MD, FAAP, and Carol Gall

From the Preface:

A pediatrician’s life is not all smiles. True, there are lighter moments, but many episodes are ambiguous, even dark. We (the authors) hope you will find these stories interesting, but our primary goal is to make you think about them. They are intended as teaching tales. If these stories stimulate you to think, then they have achieved their purpose. If you enjoy reading them, then we have achieved a double satisfaction.

About the authors:

John Gall, M.D., was educated at St. Johns College in Annapolis, Maryland, George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and Yale College. After receiving his medical training at George Washington University School of Medicine, he trained in Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1958. He retired from private practice in 2001 after more than forty years of experience in behavioral and developmental problems of children.

Carol A. Gall was educated at the University of Minnesota, Stout State University in Wisconsin, Moorhead State University, and the University of North Dakota. Her degrees are in music, special education, and child psychology. She is the founder of The Touch of GraceSM and has worked in the fields of music, child psychology, special education, counseling, and meditation and healing. In all of these endeavors, she has always sought to expand the comfort zones, both educationally and psychologically, of the people with whom she has worked.
